For the love of zombies!

Only a few more days to go until our Plants vs Zombies party. I’ve been busy catching up on preparations, having fallen way behind over the school holidays. You’d think I would have learned from last year and started earlier!

While doing some ‘research’ 😛 in Pinterest I found a photo, of cans that had been recycled to become a set of zombie bowling pins. So my kids decided they needed to start eating lots of beans so we could make a set of our own. Thanks kids, I think! 🙄 I found an image of the zombie face on the front of a t-shirt and took it into Picmonkey where I cropped it and fiddled with it so I could print it out on a few different shades of zombie green and grey. One zombie bowling set completed! zombie skittles I found these free colouring pages and printed some out for the kids in case they get bored – hopefully they go unused and the kids can take them home at the end of the party! colour inI’ve made labels to stick on some party hats for the kids. Maybe we can pretend that wearing the hats will help protect their brains from munching zombies! hats And here are some little thank you tags I made to stick onto lolly boxes for the kids to take home. lolly box Onto some edible stuff now. These gruesome graves and creepy claws were made from chocolate melts. I plan to put them into little bowls of my home made chocolate yogo, with some crumbled chocolate biscuits sprinkled on top to look like a cemetery. How ghoulishly good – the little boys are going to be in zombie heaven! rip I finally got around to making zombie marshmallow pops. I was originally going to put the marshmallows on paper straws, but after making one I decided he looked like too much of a pinhead. I think they look much more in proportion on the lollipop sticks!

Zombie boss kept a close eye on proceedings as his new force was assembled. Now all that’s left to do is give them ghastly expressions on their little faces. My edible black pen didn’t want to work on the chocolate, so I’m not sure how I’m going to do that? Here is a link to see where I got my inspiration for these little guys. I dipped them in melted white chocolate with a drop of black, and a couple of drops of green food colouring. The eyeballs are from Wilton’s. One day I’ll learn how to make a decent royal icing and make my own…one day! mallow collage
