This will probably seem a little strange, but I started this blog as a way to try and get my rear into gear! You see I’m famous for starting projects and not finishing them. And I’m always coming up with ideas, but never actually following through with them. In short, I’m a day dreamer and a procrastinator – of the worst kind! So I thought if I started a blog I’d feel obliged to get stuff done, so I’d have something interesting to write about 😉

Pinwheels & Pompoms is my creative, happy place. I write about my ‘adventures’ with planning birthday parties for my children, as well as baking and decorating cakes and cookies for their parties. My two crazy dogs get a few mentions as well!

A while ago I became the proud (and slightly broke) owner of a thermomix, so I’ll include recipes I’ve converted, as well as some low fructose recipes that I’ll be experimenting with. And to top it all off, I’m going to tackle some furniture restoration and room makeovers this year, so hopefully there will be something to interest you!

Oh cool, you’re still here! Well, I have three darling little treasures (DLT’s), two girls and a boy. The youngest just started full time school this year, so I can finally do all the things I’ve been day dreaming about. At least until Hubs insists that I go back to work and help pay off that darn mortgage!!

I’ve spent most of my adult life working as a geologist (boring!!), so now I’m looking forward to mucking around and exploring my creative side. It’s been trying desperately to get out for a while now!
