Ladybird themed fondant decorations

In a couple of weeks we’ll be catching up with my brother and his family in Broome for a week-long holiday {yay, can’t wait to lounge by the pool!}. My niece recently celebrated her second birthday, but we haven’t seen her since last Christmas, so I want to make a cute birthday cake to take up there. Hopefully it will travel well in the plane!!

Spotty Dotty Cake

Lately I’ve seen photos of some really cool “surprise inside” cakes. They look just like regular cakes on the outside, but when you cut into them a pretty pattern is revealed. There have been checkers, hearts, shamrocks, zebra stripes, and my favourite – spots. I fell in love with a multi-coloured polka dot cake, and another one with ladybirds spots inside.

Belated Easter goodies

I know, I know. It’s so far past Easter it’s just not funny. But I made a cute little Easter cake and some cookies, and just wanted to share them! I’d been so inspired by all the amazing iced cookies people are making around the world, that I thought I’d give it a go. Afternoon snack

I’ve just made myself a snack. A yummy flat white, decaf of course, because I’d like to be able to fall asleep at a decent hour tonight! And my favourite sweet sandwich. I know, I shouldn’t really use white bread, but the kids love it (and Hubs too, just quietly). Plus I always make sure I choose a high fibre loaf, so it’s not all bad!
